SUPERIOR TING-TANG BRACKET CLOCK CIRCA 1890'S
CLOCK MOVEMENT IN THIS CLOCK HAS BEEN PROFESSIONALLY OVERHAULED AND SHOULD GIVE YEARS OF CARE FREE SERVICE
A truly wonderful Burred Walnut arched dial bracket clock of superior quality.
The clock has an 8 day "Ting-Tang"pendulum movement, which strikes the quarters on two gongs and on the hour it strikes four quarters and then the hour on just one gong. It has just been fully overhauled by T.P. Wittmann certified Horologist.
FULL TWELVE MONTH WARRANTY ON THE MOVEMENT.
It has a brass arched dial with a silvered chapter ring with engraved black Arabic numerals and matted center. There is a "fast and slow" subsidiary dial to the top and gilt brass spandrels in each corner.
The arched opening door has thick beveled glass.
The case is constructed of a beautiful honey colored burred walnut veneer and has a very rich, age related patina that only time can produce. There is some minor, and I mean minor, case imperfections with the veneer-the clock is over 100 years old-see photo's.
It has brass finials on the top and caryatids to the front canted corners. There are brass sound frets to the sides and it sits on splayed bracket feet.
The movement is stamped M.B. # 41440

PER MR DONALD DE CARLE'S WATCH AND CLOCK ENCYCLOPEDIA a
TING-TANG CLOCK is a clock that sounds on two gongs (one of lower tone than the first as a rule) in ding-dong fashion at the quarters and at the hours. Two blows indicate the first quarter: four the half hour: six the quarter to the hour and eight at the hours, followed by the number of hours struck in the usual manner of a striking clock
